Sergey Gavshin

Sergey Gavshin was born on September 20, 1907. Place of birth – Udmurt ASSR, Cisowski District, village of Sabanina. Called up for war in 1942 (Udmurt ASSR, Kiyasovsky District, Kiyasovsky District Military Commissariat), sent to PRB 36 ZSD (reception and distribution battalion, reserve rifle division, stationed at the Yuski station UASSR). Arrived in the unit on July 12, 1942. Military unit – 117th Reserve Rifle Regiment. He fought at Rzhev and was wounded, a bullet pierced his lung. Demobilized on July 15, 1942. After being wounded, Sergei was treated in a hospital in Leningrad. He studied at a truck driver's course. The last duty station was 387th Separate Motor Transport Battalion. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd degree (06.04.1985). His wife, Evdokia Gavshina (Chukhlantseva), was born in the village of Makshaki in the Sarapul District of the Udmurt ASSR (1906-1990). Two brothers of Evdokia - veterans of the Great Patriotic War: Semyon (1910-1942), a private, a Rifleman, went missing; Ilya (born in 1925), returned from the war, was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd degree. Children: Mikhail (1927-1966), Alexandra (b.1930), Anna (1936–?), Nikolai (1939-2004). Sergey Afanasyevich died on May 5, 1990.
