Bashkirov Vasily Semyonovich

Rank: Junior Sergeant Branch of the army: Land forces, air force (except naval aviation), coast service, NKVD troops, border guard Unit: 110th rifle division (1st formation) I, the daughter of Vasily Bashkirov-a native of the village of Yelnik, Krasnoyarsk territory, was born in 1949. I remember my father from fragments of childhood memory, but very well from the memories of my grandmother Bashkirova (Chekmeneva ) Fekla Dmitriena. Dad was born in the family of Bashkirov Semyon Ivanovich, where there were 5 daughters and one son , the second after the older sister Raisa Semyonovna. The village had a four-year primary school, which he successfully completed. I didn't have to study further , I didn't have any money, I helped my parents with household chores and worked as a part-time worker at various jobs . In the late 30s, the whole family was enrolled in a collective farm. Vasily Semyonovich learned to drive a wheeled tractor and became a tractor driver. It's time to go serve in the Red army . He took the oath in 1939 in the far Eastern division. In 1940, the division was transferred to the Finnish front. Judging by the materials of the front-line years, the Junior Sergeant went a long way in battle. He finished the war in Konigsberg, and until 1948 was there to restore the destroyed city. He returned home in 1948. He started working on the land: he was a tractor driver, mechanic, combine harvester, foreman, took care of young specialists. In summer practice in 1958, when I was taking young tractor drivers to mow, my father was found by the only car that drove on rural roads without brakes. Death was instantaneous. 10 years of peaceful life and 10 years of the front - incompatible opposite things for us, his children, left at the age of 9 and his brother 5 years . Memories of my father always lead us to think that we missed his big strong , brave and beautiful in this life. Thanks to our mother, we were not lost in the whirlwind of time and the bustle that surrounded us.
