Ponomarenko Nikolay Zakharovich. Private Soldier. Manchuria. 1945. This photo is one of the two preserved in our family since the war. My grandfather was drafted into the Army in 1943. He served in the 1007th Rifle Regiment, 292nd Khingan Rifle Division, 36th Combined Arms Army of the Trans-Baikal Front. This division took part in the Khingan Operation, liberated Hailar, Mukden, Qiqihar, Port Arthur.
