V.K. Medvedchikova was born on February 3, 1924 in the village Novospasovka Millerovsky district, graduated from school №1 in Millerovo in 1941. She worked in the city of Rostov-on-Don in a sorting front-line hospital. She went to the front when the front line was near the city itself. But soon she was wounded and ended up in a mobile hospital, where she remained to work. With this 279 hospital, she went through the entire war as a nurse on the 3rd Ukrainian Front. She met the victory in Hungary. She was awarded the medal "For Victory over Germany" and jubilee medals.
