Sozinov Vladimir Petrovich -Hero of the Soviet Union
Sozinov Vladimir Petrovich. Was born in 1904 in the Rebrikhinsky district of the Altai Territory. Lieutenant, platoon commander of the 306th Infantry Division. When breaking through the enemy's defense on June 23, 1944, near the village of Zaozerye-Medvedi, Vitebsk region, Sozinov, at the head of a platoon, burst into the enemy's trenches. Some of the Nazis were destroyed, the rest fled. Continuing the offensive, the platoon crossed the Western Dvina River near the village of Sheretino, occupied a bridgehead and ensured the crossing of the entire battalion. On July 22, 1944, Vladimir Petrovich Sozinov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. He died on 10.10.1981, was buried in the city of Barnaul.
