Podlesnykh Petr Grigorievich

Podlesnykh Pyotr, born in 1915 in the village of Krivopolyanye in the Chaplyginsky district, was conscripted by the Regional Military Commissariat of the Ryazan region in 1941, having trained tankers, and was sent directly to the front. No matter how good the tank was, without a competent crew it became a pile of metal. Peter Grigorievich and the tank crew heroically proved themselves in the battles at the Kursk Bulge. Pyotr Grigorievich was wounded many times, including seriously. He was awarded medals, the Order of Glory of III degree, the Order of Patriotic War of II degree. After the Great Patriotic War he returned to his native village of Krivopolyanje.
