Podlesnykh Vasily Grigorievich, born in 1924 in the village of Krivopolyanye, Chaplyginsky district. In the Red Army since 1942. Place of call: Regional Military Commissariat Ryazan region, Ryanenburg. According to the archive of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the hero's battlefield was from the city of Eagle to the city of Wroclaw in Poland. The Motherland highly appreciated the heroism of Vasily Grigorievich, his awards: Medal "For Courage", Order of Glory III degree, Medal "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", Medal "For Military Merit", etc. In July 1945, he began his studies at the Stalin Academy of Armoured Forces as a lieutenant. After successful graduation from the Academy, he served in Western Ukraine.
