Nikolay Sergeyevich Vikulin

Nikolai Sergeyevich Vikulin, born in 1926 in the village of Krivopolyanye, Chaplyginsky district, in the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army since November 1943, Place of Conscription: Regional Military Commissariat, Ryazan region. Participated in Operation Bagration, was a sapper. Assaulted the city of Budapest, it was one of the bloodiest battles of the war. According to the archive of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation on March 3, 1945, Nikolay Sergeevich was seriously wounded near the city of Altadam (province of Pomerania in Prussia). He fought on American "Sherman" tanks. He was awarded combat awards: the Medal "For Combat Services", the Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" and others. Demobilised in 1946.
