Demin Nikolai Arkhipovich (1918-1998) Participant in the war with imperial Japan in 1945, assistant platoon commander of the foot reconnaissance platoon of the 8th rifle regiment, 3rd rifle division. On September 8, 1945, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for his exploits in the battles of taking the Hohermojin resistance node: by the actions of his reconnaissance group he obtained particularly valuable information about the enemy, destroyed fire points and power supply nodes, which eventually led to the surrender of the Japanese garrison. The garrison was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of First Class Patriotic War and medals.
