Putilin Nikolai Ivanovich (worker in the rear) was born on December 2, 1930 in the village of Agafonovka, St. Petersburg district, Saratov region. When the war began, he was ten years old. The years of his childhood, ended very fast. There were almost no men left in the village, they fought at the front. Nikolai Ivanovich recalls how he worked as a ploughman on a collective farm. They gave him a horse and a plough, he harrowed the ground as he could. A year later he learned to be a tractor driver. “Three years later, I was entrusted with a large tractor. So I had to work from dawn to dawn” -the veteran shares his memories. And when the war ended, he continued to work as a mechanic in his native collective farm. Here he found his family happiness, he brought his wife to his native house, which he repaired himself. The veteran was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labour in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945"
