In the war from June 22, 1941, at the age of nineteen he went to the front, went through the whole war, and another year after the war he was the commandant of a city in western Ukraine. Skill, courage and courage are his qualities manifested in battles. He fought on the North-Western Front and by personal example inspired the fighters to feats, personally destroyed up to 10 German soldiers and a firing point in one battle. March 12, 1945 with a strong onslaught of the enemy in the area of ​​st. Ziychiuyfalu, being on the defensive with his platoon on the open flank, showed steadfastness and endurance, delaying the retreating infantry, forced it to dig in in its battle formations and take part in repelling the enemy who was entering the flank. Thanks to the skillful organization of fire and endurance, the enemy was thrown back with losses. The order of the command was carried out, the threatening situation was eliminated. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star. And in the period from 04/04/45 to 04/07/45. organized the correct defense of the platoon, in spite of the unfavorable terrain, completed the combat mission and organized the interaction of fire when repelling enemy attacks. He himself was personally directly in the main formations of the platoon, thereby ensuring the repulsion of the enemy's counter-attack. Despite the injury, in the difficult time of the battle he did not leave the battlefield, but continued to fight until the enemy withdrew to his positions. Platoon Zykov L.K. was always ahead, destroying a large number of German soldiers and firing points. Awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, II degree on April 15, 1945.
