From  February 1940, by order of the People’s Commissariat of the USSR, he was assigned to the commander of the 115th rifle regiment of the 75th rifle division, appointed commander of the rifle platoon of the 6th rifle company of the 2nd rifle battalion of the 115th rifle regiment of the 75th rifle division. Member of the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-1940. By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 19, 1940, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star for courage and heroism shown in battles with the White Finns. He met the Great Patriotic War on June 22, 1941 as part of the 115th Infantry Regiment in the area of ​​the town of Malorita, Brest Region. He died on June 22-23, 1941, covering the retreat of units of the 115th Infantry Regiment in the area of ​​the Melovaya Gora tract (5 km south-west of Malorita). Was considered missing.
