30.06.1923 - 28.06.1997_x000D_ Unfortunately, I learned the story of my great-grandmother not from her personally, but from my grandmother._x000D_ Before the war, she worked at the Progress Factory and had a "reservation" from being drafted into the army, but at that time, almost from every family someone went to the front, and my great-grandmother did not want to be an exception. With her friends (Tasya Luzikova and Lena Baiduganova), she went to the Kemerovo Military Commissariat and they asked to be sent to the front. They were sent to the Podolsk Women's Sniper School. They took the oath on May 1, 1944, and Raisa continued her service as a Specialist in the 322nd Rifle Regiment. During her service, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major. During the period of military operations, she personally destroyed 8 German soldiers, this was recorded in her personal book of a sniper-fighter of the Nazis._x000D_ My great-grandmother said very little about her service. But even at the front, a girl was still a girl. Although it was impossible to keep any diaries containing information of a military nature, she kept a Songbook that has been preserved in our family to this day. And according to some records, one can navigate in which places the great-grandmother was at one time or another (For example: "February 22, 1945 in the city of Paranga", "April 5, 1945 M. Rossitten")._x000D_ We learn about the end of the war from its last entry: "We are in the field, on the way to Lubava, but being about 20 kilometers away, we learned about the victory, as we were all happy, because this fight belonged to us, the last and decisive. The soldiers are delighted, everyone is having fun, everywhere you can hear songs, laughter, firing from all kinds of guns, in the evening a movie... Yes, what a joy for us. Here are the girls coming to me. Now memories will begin. This is the end of my writing."_x000D_ She was awarded the Medal For Bravery by order of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 5, 1945. She was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd degree by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 11, 1985. She was awarded the Zhukov medal by order of the President of the Russian Federation of January 19, 1996,._x000D_ We still keep her army documents and photos in our house, which we review every May 9, remembering our great-grandmother.
