A. S. Brzhezovsky was born in 1902 in the city of Kaluga, in a large family, his father was a tailor. In 1919, he entered Kaluga "Infantry command courses" as a cadet, and then a platoon commander. In 1920, he enlisted as a volunteer in the Red Army, took part in the Civil war in 1920-1921 within the "2nd Special army of the Republic" and "Separate Caucasian army". In December 1921, he was demobilized, came to Kaluga and worked in various structures of the city until 1930. Since 1930, he entered the service of the OGPU "32nd separate detachment" (town of Elektrostal), the commander of the plant protection unit (possibly-steel production). Since 1932, joined the OGPU "11th separate detachment "(Elektrostal), platoon commander. In 1933, he was transferred to the" 102nd separate division” of the OGPU (Podlipki railway station), as an assistant to chief of the staff. From 1934 to 1935, he served in the 179th regiment of the NKVD (Podlipki raiway station), as a senior assistant to the chief of the staff. Since 1935, he entered the "Higher borderguard school of the NKVD of the USSR", received the rank of Junior, and then Senior Lieutenant of the state security. He graduated in 1937. From 1937 to 1941, A. S. Brzhezovsky, with the rank of major, was on military-pedagogical work at the Moscow state technical University of the NKVD named after Menzhinsky. 1937 – head coach for tactics, 1940 - senior teacher, 1941 - commander of the combat support battalion. Since 1936, he additionally studied at the "Frunze Military Academy of the Red Army", in 1940 he successfully graduated from the Academy. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic war, A. S. Brzhezovsky was assigned to the 22nd motorized rifle division of the NKVD operational troops (22nd MSD of the NKVD), in which direction he went from the Leningrad railway station in Moscow. Participated in the defense of Riga. In August 1941, as a result of an active German offensive, the main forces of the 22nd division were pressed against the Gulf of Finland and cut off from the city of Tallin. As a result, the division headquarters (where A. S. Brzhezovsky was located) was surrounded and partially reached Tallin. Until the beginning of the evacuation of Soviet troops and civilians, the remnants of the division actively participates in the defense of the city and together with the marine corps units protected the evacuees. "...On August 28, 1941, the enemy broke through the defense line in the area of Myygu, which was defended by the marine corps, occupied the airfield and continued the offensive on the outskirts of Tallin. A fierce battle ensued on the outskirts of Tallin. The 5th battalion under the command of captain Dubovitsky steadfastly repelled the enemy's attacks, not letting them enter the city. The enemy suspended the offensive, began reconnaissance in the direction of the station Liiva-Yam (a suburb of Tallin), and groups of machine gunners penetrated to the South-Eastern outskirts of the city. To liquidate this break, the head of the 1st staff department major Brzhezowski founded the unified battalion in the city of Tallin, which under the command of the Senior Lieutenant Ageev started the offensive and destroyed a few groups of submachine nazi gunners, capturing a large-caliber machine gun. Having stopped the enemy, he occupied the area of defense and firmly held it...". On August 29 – 30 he was evacuated by sea during the "Tallin crossing" to Kronstadt, and then to Leningrad. Due to the chaos during the evacuation, no information on what the ship and the circumstances under which A.S. Brzhezowski reached Kronstadt were left. On arrival from the encirclment the remnants of the 22nd MSD NKVD was disbanded due to the loss of 75% of its personnel. A. S. Brzezowski was transferred to the 21st motorized rifle division of internal troops of the NKVD (21st MSD VV of NKVD), for the position of an assistant chief of the operational Department. The 21st MSD was stationed in Leningrad and the division's combat tasks included protection of a particularly important objects in the city and region, protecting communication routes and communication lines, and preventing sabotage infiltrations. In January 1943, A. S. Brzezowski was appointed as the commander of the 6th guards mechanized brigade (of the 2nd guards mechanized corps, 2nd guards army). A. S. Brzezowski died as a result of heavy shelling (or bombing) of the headquarters of the 2nd corps, located in the village Manycheskaya, on 22 of January 1943, buried in the Manych settlement of Bagayevskiy district, Rostov region, in a mass grave. On August 10, 1943, he was awarded the order of the Patriotic War, 1st class, posthumously.
