Tikhobaeva (Berendyugina) Anastasia Yegorovna was born in 1924, in the village of Devotskoye, Suzemsky district, Bryansk region. After the occupation of the territory of the Bryansk region by the Nazi troops, she joined the partisan detachment named after the 25th anniversary of the Red Army under the command of Alexander Nikolaevich Saburov. She fought as an ordinary soldier, as part of a machine-gun crew in the period from August 22, 1942 to August 25, 1944. Demobilized in the fall of 1944, she returned to her homeland, to the Bryansk region. I will not describe the whole severity of my childhood, the family was large with 7 children. In 1937, during the period of Stalinist repressions, our father was taken away without trial. We had to work, to work on a collective farm - both juniors and seniors, in order to somehow survive. Participated in the raid of a partisan unit under the command of A. N. Saburov on the occupied territory of the Ukrainian SSR. And in 1941 the war began. Already in the fall of 1941 Germans came to our small village and began to establish their own order, some were shot, hanged, burned, etc. In connection with such cruelty of the Germans, people with weapons in their hands began to appear in our forests and began to attack the Germans.In the spring of 1942, many partisans appeared who beat Germans from all sides. And then the Germans sent punitive detachments to destroy civilians and partisans. They began to burn villagery, and drive civilians to concentration camps, and then they were taken to Germany, some were killed on the spot. Our village was set on fire and the civilians were gathered, led under escort to send them to concentration camps. Our village was burning. Mother with small children went into the unknown. We seized a moment when the punishers hesitated. My sister and I slipped into the thick grass, where there was a lot of nettle. Since there was a continuous cloud of smoke in the village, we were not noticed. Relatives were taken away and we were left alone in the forest. We went to look for people to whom we could ask for help, everyone hoped that the parents would return. Time passed and no one helped us. And then I decided to find one of the detachments of the formation of Alexander Nikolaevich Saburov, who was at that time in our forests. They found out and talked to me, found out that I was left alone without parents, I was accepted into the detachment. Kochetkov P. was enrolled in the machine-gun crew of the 1st company. It took a little time and in October 1942, our connection with the addition of small detachments, left the Bryansk forests and went into a distant raid across the steppes of Ukraine, making their way to the rear of the enemies. Small towns were liberated, garrisons were smashed. Following the orders of the High Command, we go further, forcing rivers with battles, they surround us, drown us in the Pinsk swamps, planes bomb from morning to evening, there is not enough weapons. Broken and hungry, we get in touch with Moscow and they deliver weapons to us with difficulty, they break through, planes fly to us. We went forward again. We occupied our large regional center, and suddenly our museum is there now. When we were in the regions of Kovel-Brest-Pinsk, it was 1944 in the spring, we were then gathered to march to the Carpathians, where Sidor Artyomovich Kovpak fought fierce battles with the Nazis. We didn't have to reunite with Kovpak. Some of the boats crossed to the other side, not all. The order came to go back where they were. Since Kovel, Lutsk, Pinsk were done, we joined with the Red Army. The army moved on, and we were sent to Kiev, to the village of Svyatoshino. There was a construction of an air town, we were there before demobilization and paperwork. In November 1944, I returned to my homeland, to the Bryansk forests.
