Rank: Colonel _x000D_ Branch of troops: Aviation_x000D_ Division: 3rd Fighter Aviation Division _x000D_ Vasily Iosifovich Stalin commanded the 32nd Guards Fighter Division (02/16/1943 - 05/26/1943); 3rd Guards Fighter Division (06/02/1944 - 02/1945); 286th Guards Fighter Division of the 16th VA Air Regiment (02/25/1945 - 07/18/1946); 1st Guards Fighter Division of the16th Air Regiment (07.1946-07.1947); Air Force Moscow Military District (1948-1952). _x000D_ Military ranks: in 1942 he was awarded the rank of Colonel, in 1946—Major General of aviation, in 1949—Lieutenant General of Aviation. _x000D_ He was born on 03.24.1920 in the family of the professional revolutionary Stalin I.V. (Dzhugashvili I.V.). From 1921 to 1938 he lived with his parents and studied. In 1938, after graduating from the 9th grade of Secondary School, he entered the Kachin Red Banner Military Pilot School, which he graduated from in 1940 and was appointed a pilot in the 16th Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 24thGuards Fighter Division, in which he served until September 1940. In September 1940, he entered the command faculty of the Air Force Academy, where he studied until December 1940. In January 1941 he was sent to the Lipetsk Aviation Advanced Training Courses for Squadron Commanders, which he graduated in May 1941. _x000D_ In June 1941 he was appointed to the position of an Instructor-Pilot of the Air Force Directorate. In this position he served until September 1941, after which until January 1943 he served as Chief of the Inspection of the Air Force. _x000D_ In January 1943, he was appointed Commander of the 32nd Guards Fighter Division where he served until December 1943. In January 1944, he was appointed Commander of the 3rd Guards Fighter Aviation Bryansk Red Banner Order of Suvorov Division, and from February 1945 he was appointed Commander of the 286 1st Fighter Aviation Nizhyn Red Banner Order of Suvorov Division. _x000D_ During the Second World War, he flew 26 sorties, personally shot down 2 enemy Focke-Wulf-190 aircraft in battle. During his stay on the fronts of the Patriotic War, he had no injuries or contusions. He was not captured and surrounded. He had been a member of the Communist Party since 1940. _x000D_ Wife: Burdonskaya Galina Aleksandrovna, children: son Alexander and daughter Nadezhda._x000D_ Since 1946, the Commander of the 1st Guards Air Corps, awarded the rank of Major General. Since 1947, Deputy Commander of the Air Force of the Moscow District, awarded the rank of Lieutenant General. From 1948 to 1952, Commander of the Air Force of the Moscow Military District. From 1952, he was a student at the Academy of the General Staff. _x000D_ After the death of his father, Stalin I.V., he was persecuted by Khrushchev. In April 1953, he was arrested and was under investigation until September 1955. On September 2, 1955, by the Military Collegiate of the Supreme Court of the USSR, Vasily Iosifovich was sentenced to 8 years in prison, he had served his sentence in full in the Vladimir prison. On April 28, 1961, he was released from prison in connection with serving his sentence. After his release, he lived in the city of Kazan. _x000D_ He passed away on March 19, 1962. He was buried at the Arsk cemetery in Kazan without giving military honors. In 1999, the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office dropped all charges against Vasily Iosifovich by the Military Collegiate of the Supreme Court in September 1955. He was reburied at the Troekurovo cemetery in Moscow in 2002.
