Skvazh, Evgeny Stepanovich
Rank: Senior Sergeant. Branch of troops: Armored and Mechanized troops. Subdivision: 1st Armored Moscow Proletarian Order of Lenin Red Banner Division. He was a disabled of the III group, participant of the Great Patriotic War, a member of the Communist Party since September 1944. He was drafted into the Soviet army on February 8, 1943 in the city of Penza and demobilized in November 1946. He was in the army from September 1943 to October 1944. He served as a Mortarman, Reconnaissance officer in the 1st Mortar Battery, 1st Guards Motorized Rifle Battalion, 1st Separate Guards Kalinkovic Motorized Rifle Brigade, 1st Don Tank Corps in Bryansk and 1st om the Belorussian fronts, with the rank of Guards Senior Sergeant. He was seriously wounded and shell-shocked. He took part in the liberation of the cities of Rechitsa, Kalinovichi. He took part in military operation “Bagration”: breaking through the enemy's defenses covering the Bobruisk area and in the liberation of the cities of Osinovichi, Bobruisk, Minsk, and Slonim. _x000D_
For excellent military operations, he received Commendations of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Comrade Stalin. He was also awarded medals: "50 years of the Armed Forces of the USSR", "25 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", "60 years of the Armed Forces of the USSR". He worked at the VEM plant in the city of Penza, was awarded the medals “For Labor Distinction”, “For Valiant Labor in Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V.I. Lenin”, “Veteran of Labor”. In 1971 he received the title of an honorary veteran of the plant's labor. At the VEM plant he worked from July 1947 to November 28, 1983 as a dispatcher, foreman, shop manager, Deputy Director for social life, and Senior engineer. For health reasons, he resigned. On the job he graduated from the Penza Engineering College in 1954, the Penza factory VTUZ in 1977.
