Rank: Red Army soldier _x000D_ _x000D_ Ivan Andreevich Potapov was born into a peasant family. His father died tragically when Ivan was 6 weeks old. The elder brother Pavel left for the Army in 1913 and further linked his life with military affairs, rising to the rank of Major General. Brother Peter and sister Maria had their families and left for Moscow. _x000D_ On January 21, 1924, Ivan Andreevich married Maria Ivanovna Chigina, who came to the village Kurovo from St. Petersburg. In marriage, they had 8 children: 4 sons and 4 daughters. Unfortunately, the girl Tonya died in infancy. The youngest son was born in October 1941 already without a father and was named Ivan in his honor. The eldest son Nikolai fought with the Nazis and died on January 24, 1945 in Hungary from a serious injury and a great loss of blood in the hands of his comrade. He informed his relatives in a letter about Nikolai's death. The second son of Ivan Andreevich,Konstantin, was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army in 1944 and served in it for 7 years. _x000D_ Before the Great Patriotic War, Ivan Andreevich worked at the mill. During the period of the organization of kolkhoz, I.A. Potapov was one of the first to donate a horse to a kolkhoz. He was a decent and honest man, hardworking. _x000D_ The cellar made by his hands has survived to this day, in good condition and suitable for use. The name of Ivan Andreevich is immortalized on the monument dedicated to the fallen soldiers. "Nobody is forgotten and nothing is forgotten."
