Sviridov Alexey Danilovich was a sapper of 95th Border Detachment of the NKVD troops of the USSR of the Directorate of the Border Troops of the NKVD of the USSR of the Lithuanian District. _x000D_
According to the Book of Memory of the Border Troops (vol. 3, p. 36), he died in combat on October 18, 1944 in the town of Taurage, the district center of the former Lithuanian SSR. The burial place is unknown. _x000D_
"On October 17, 1944, on the basis of order No. 01128 issued two days earlier by the head of the district of 95th Border Order of Lenin, a detachment of troops of the NKVD of the USSR for the first time after the start of the Great Patriotic War began to protect the State Border of the USSR. The border commandant's office had been just liberated by Soviet troops with the Memel region of East Prussia along the line of the former border of the Lithuanian SSR with Germany: Aukshtupe settlement; 4th border commandant's office - Eish settlement; 5th border commandant's office - Yurburg settlement. _x000D_
