Elizaveta Elkina was born in 1916. She was called to the front in 1941, by the Syktyvkar City Military Commissariat. She fought in the 2nd Shock Army of the Volkhov Front with the rank of Military Doctor of the 3rd rank (which corresponded to the Captain). Elizaveta Elkina was presented with a military award - the medal For Bravery in September 1942. When leaving the encirclement on June 24-25, 1942, in the area of the Polist River, the Military Doctor Elkina provided assistance to wounded soldiers and commanders under heavy artillery, mortar, machine-gun and machine-gun fire.
