Hero of the Soviet Union Andrey Frolov with a group of officers

First Lieutenant Andrei Frolov (1917-1984), was born in the village of Ik Vikulovskiy District. He was called up for service in the Red Army in September 1938. He graduated from the regimental school in 1939. Since the beginning of the war, he participated in the battles on the Karelian Front. Andrey was awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union on March 24, 1945 for his heroic combat actions in the Soviet Arctic and personal bravery. On the photo, Andrey (far left) is shown with a group of officers during the examening of the destroyed German defense positions in the Novgorod Region, in January 1944, after the Leningrad-Novgorod operation.
