During the mission, 3 Pe-3 aircraft made an emergency landing, being knocked out by enemy fighters, and my grandfather with a group of technical personnel in difficult conditions in the front line in a short time restored the damaged aircraft. From December 1942, he worked in the 28th ORAE of the Northern Fleet Air Force as a flight mechanic on SB aircraft, during this time he served 6 night combat missions for bombarding enemy troops and airfields. Since March 1943, at 3 AE 118 RAP he has been working as a flight mechanic on the Hurricane aircraft. In August 1943, with his flight technical staff, he put into operation 3 Yak-9 aircraft and from October 1 to October 18, 1943, he served 58 daytime combat missions with his flight for reconnaissance of enemy ships and transports. The work in the Arctic was very difficult, especially during the winter.
