Ivanov Nikolay Alexandrovich

Subdivision: 78th Rifle Zaporozhye Red Banner Order of Suvorov Division. Ivanov Nikolai Alexandrovich was born on August 2, 1925 in the village of Bolshaya Krutaya, Tyumen region. When the war began, Nikolai was only 15 years old and he was not taken to the front. He worked on a collective farm. Like all the boys of that time, he was eager to go to war, to defend his homeland. Only in January 1943, at the age of 17, he was enrolled in the Astrakhan military school. Since June 1943, Nikolai Aleksandrovich became a private of the 28th Airborne Regiment of the 9th Guards Airborne Poltava Red Banner Order of Suvorov and Kutuzov Division. He took part in the Battle of the Kursk Bulge. During the Battle, his platoon was captured by the Germans. But the fighters managed to escape from captivity. During the escape, Ivanov was seriously wounded and was evacuated to the hospital. After a difficult operation, he was sent to courses for junior lieutenants at the 2nd Ukrainian Front. In May 1944, he was appointed Commander of a rifle platoon of the 27th Army of the Ukrainian Front. He took part in all battles on the Steppe and Ukrainian fronts. As part of the 27th Army of the Ukrainian Front, he drove the Germans all the way to Berlin. In April - May 1945 he took part in the Battle of Berlin, for which he was awarded the medal "For the capture of Berlin". After the victory in the Great Patriotic War Ivanov N.A. was redeployed to the Far East to protect the eastern borders of the homeland. Only in May 1946 he was transferred to the reserve. In the postwar years Ivanov N.A. worked at Uralvagonzavod in Nizhny Tagil. At that time, the whole country was rampant with banditry and crime. In 1958, Ivanov Nikolai Alexandrovich tragically died from a bullet wound, returning home from work. His life was cut short at 33.
