According to the recollections of Nikolai Konstantinovich's wife, he was involved in the evacuation of a cotton mill from the city of Glukhov and setting up production in the city of Tashkent. In May 1943 he was seconded to the Uzbek Council of People's Commissars, where he worked as a senior consultant for the textile industry. In March 1944. was mobilized into the Red Army and sent to the military-political school of propagandists. After which in January 1945 he was sent to the 1st Belorussian Front as an agitator of the regiment. He took part in battles, starting with the crossing of the Oder, as well as the capture of Berlin and other operations of the Red Army. He graduated from the war with the rank of senior lieutenant. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, medals "For Labor Distinction", "For Victory over Germany", "For the Capture of Berlin", "For Labor Valor during the Patriotic War of 1941-45." After demobilization in October 1945 he worked in the People's Commissariat of Textiles of the RSFSR, in the Ministry of Light Industry as the head of the office. He died on February 17, 1952 in Moscow.
