Lazarev Georgy Lavrentievich
DATE OF BIRTH: 22.07.1922. DATE OF DEATH: - HISTORY: Corps: Artillery. Lazarev Georgy Lavrentievich was born in Nechayevo village, Karachan district, Kursk region. He fought in the great Patriotic war from August 1943 to October 1944. He took part in major military operations in the battles of the Kursk bulge. During the war, G. L. Lazarev was an anti-tank artillery gunner and gun commander. In October 1944, having received a serious wound, he was treated in a military hospital and after recovery was sent to work in the rear. Government awards and badges: the Order of the Great Patriotic War, 2nd class, the Order of the Red Star, medal "For courage", medal "For Victory over Germany", jubilee medals "20 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941 - 1945" 9.05.1966, "30 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 - 1945" 20.06.1976, "40 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 - 1945" 09.05 1985, "50 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941 - 1945" 22.03.1995. By the decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated 11.03.1985, Lazarev G. L. was also awarded of the Order of Patriotic War, 1st class for courage, persistence and braveness demonstrated in the struggle against the Nazi invaders. In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Victory of Soviet people in the Great Patriotic war 1941 - 1945 by Decree of the Chairman of the Russian Federation B. N. Yeltsin, Lazarev G. L. was awarded of the Medal of Zhukov dated 06.03.1995. Since 1950s until November 2001, Lazarev G. L. lived in Shirokiy Karamysh settlement, Lysogorskiy district. He worked for many years as a driver at the state farm “Shirokkaramyshsky”, then as a driver and a housekeeping manager at the Shirokkaramyshsky secondary school. Lazarev G. L. was awarded of Certificates of Merit and valuable gifts for conscientious work. He was married, had 2 sons and 2 daughters, 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. He died on November 22, 2001.
