Kuznetsov Peter Vasilievich
My grandfather, Peter Kuznetsov, was born on December 16, 1919 in the village of Yakshino, Teikovsky district in Ivanovo region. He graduated seven classes of a secondary school. In November 1939, he was called up to the 48th Western Artillery Regiment as a telephone operator. From February 1940 to November 1941, he served in the 397th Artillery Regiment of the 95th Artillery division, as a Radiotelegraph operator. On December 28, 1941, he was seriously wounded in the left arm, and afterwords he was taken to the 2452nd Evaco hospital and was treated from December 1941 to July 1942. Since then, my grandfather could only raise his hand to eye level. On July 20, 1942, my grandfather was dismissed from the service due to a serious injury. On August 10, 1944, he was called up for mobilization in the 25th Radio Training Regiment. From April 1945 to May 1946, he served in the 480th Radio Division of pecial purpose, served as a Senior Radio Operator. My grandfather served both near Moscow and Sevastopol and went as far as Berlin. The war for my grandfather ended only a year later, in May 1946. My grandfather has an award: the Medal "For the Victory over Germany". After the Great Patriotic War, my grandfather had a long, hard-working, decent life. And after the war, my grandfather did not change his profession, worked as a radio electronics engineer in one of the research institutes in Moscow. He got married, had a wonderful son and his first granddaughter (this is me) who was born in 1978. Peter Vasilyevich simply adored his granddaughter, loved to walk with her in the park, took her fishing. My grandfather was an avid fisherman, mushroom picker, fond of chasing metal. In General, I must say that my grandfather was a very strong-willed, interesting person, very fond of telling about his war years, about how he was wounded, about how a fellow soldier was killed right in front of his eyes, about how very hard and difficult it was in the war. But there was one cherished and most important goal and dream- to win! And they have won! My grandfather died in July 2006 at the age of 87. He was buried at the Shcherbinsky cemetery in Moscow.
