Born in 1920, participant of the Great Patriotic War. From the memoirs of Lieutenant Colonel G. S. Kangin who ended the war with the rank of Captain: "We gathered with guys in the dormitory of the Institute and decided to go to the front as volunteers. The Regional Military Commissariat decided to send us to the Mogilev Infantry School evacuated to Volsk town where we were enrolled as cadets in a special company ... At the end of November 1941 we were awarded officer ranks and then sent to the front ...
