Klavdiya Vasilyevna Bokova, born in 1925, volunteered for the front in 1942. After successful completion of the medical instructors course she was sent to the 115th Battalion of the 1st Ukrainian Front with the rank of a Sergeant of the medical service. She carried the wounded out from the battlefield during the liberation of Kiev, during the assault-crossing of the Dnieper and Danube, during the liberation of Moldova, Romania, Hungary and Austria. Then she fought as part of the 53rd Army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front.
