Galtsev Alexander Ivanovich was born on October 23, 1923 in the village of Brykovka. From the beginning of the war until January 1942, he worked in construction of millitary sites. In February 1942, he was drafted to Soviet Army and went to study in 1st Saratov Tank School, which he graduated in 1943. He served as tanker officer, was Commander of platoon and Commander of company in 1st and 2nd Ukrainian fronts, from October 1943. He took part in liberation of Prague, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia. Awards: two orders of Patriotic War 1st class and 2nd class, three orders of "Red Star", order "For Service to the Motherland", two medals "For Military Merit", and others.
