Antonov Petr Semyonovich

Antonov Petr Semyonovich. Born in 1923 in the village of Almametyevo, Morkinsky District. He studied at the Nurumbala eight-year school. After he entered to study at the Morkino Pedagogical College, he worked as a cultural worker in the Kirov martel. When the Great Patriotic War began, he voluntarily went to the front. From 1941 to 1943 he fought on the Western Front near the city of Smolensk. In the town of Zayachya Gora, he knocked out a tank and was seriously wounded in the leg. He lay on the battlefield for two days, bleeding, could not get up. The orderlies picked him up, brought to the dugout, and then sent to the medical battalion. From there he was taken by plane to Maloyaroslavl, where he lay in the hospital. The leg was amputated. He returned home disabled.
