Cherevaty Vasily Ivanovich was born in the village of Golodaevo, Starobelsky district, Voroshilovgrad region. In 1941, with his parents and sisters, he was evacuated to the village of Baskatovka. In 1943 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army, served as a mortarman in the 101st Guards Rifle Division. 3 short letters - all that remain with loved ones in memory of their son and brother.
