At first, until the Victory, he fought in eight fronts. He took part in defensive battles near Smolensk, Stalingrad, in the liberation of the Caucasus, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, the Baltic states, in the defeat of the enemy on German territory. For military distinction he was marked with many awards. He received the title of Hero of the USSR on October 26, 1944 for participating in 160 sorties, during which he personally shot down 4 and 6 enemy aircraft in a group battle. He died on June 16, 2008. His name is immortalized on a memorial plaque in his native Berezov
