A.T.Volzhin - participant of WWII. Born March 28, 1926 in the village of Punino, Pytalovo district, Pskov region. Called on August 3, 1944 by the Abrene Regional Military Commissariat. From August 1944 to September 1944 - gunner 225th reserve infantry regiment, from September 1944 to December 1944 - gunner from the 36 mm anti-aircraft gun of the 1467th separate anti-aircraft regiment, from December 1944 to May 1945 - the commander of the gun 112 mm howitzer of the 187th heavy howitzer artillery brigade. He fought at the 3rd Baltic Fleet, 1st Ukranian Front. For exemplary performance of combat tasks of the command he was awarded the Order of Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, medals "For the Liberation of Prague", "For the capture of Berlin", "For the Victory over Germany in WWII, 1941-1945", "For the Victory over Germany".
