He was born on January 13, 1924 in the village of Rovny, now Veidelevsky District, Belgorod Region, to a peasant family. Russian. Secondary education. Worked at a collective farm. By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 24, 1966, for the exemplary performance of command tasks in battles with the Nazi invaders, Mikhail Andreyevich Korenkov was reappointed with the Order of Glory of the 1st degree (№ 3122), becoming a full knight of the Order of Glory.
