Fyodor Mikhailovich Tyunin

Fedor Mikhailovich Tyunin was born on 6 March 1919 in the village of Butyrki, Chaplyginsky district. In one of the battles on the Dnieper, he was the only survivor of his platoon. Three times the Nazis tried to destroy the hero, but the brave officer made them roll back and forth. And only a shell that exploded nearby stopped his resistance to the enemy. Fortunately, he remained alive. He, who was half alive, was discovered the next day by our advancing Marines. There were twenty-five Hitlerites near Tyunin's cell who had been destroyed by machine gun fire and grenades. The platoon died, but the enemy did not pass.
