Boris Yakovlevich Zharikov

Born in 1923 in the village of Porzovo, Kameshkir District, Penza Region, to a family of peasants Zharikov Yakov Egorovich and Daria Alexandrovna (born in 1892). He was the third child in a family with many children. He was drafted to the front literally in the first days of the war. He was sent to a parachute school in Kuibyshev. There, the cadets are trained for 6 months and sent to the front. The actions of these soldiers were classified. In his letters to his home he did not indicate where he was. Now it has become known that a paratrooper was fighting near Stalingrad. Boris was killed on 28.08.1942. He was buried in a mass grave in Gorodishchensky district in the village of Stepnoye, Volgograd Region.
