Faina Ivanovna Tsareva (Galafeeva), was born in 1921 in the village of Peschanoe, Pudozh district of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. (In July 2013, the village will be 450 years old!) In 1938, she graduated with honors from a medical college, specializing as a paramedic-midwife. She worked in Velikaya Niva as the head of a paramedic station, then in the village of Shunga Zaonezhie in the district maternity hospital, from where, after the rally, she left among the first volunteers to the front.
