Tsyganov Ivan Mikhailovich, my grandfather, went to the front at the age of 17 on 04/01/1943. He began his service with the rank of junior lieutenant of the medical service as a paramedic of a regimental medical center and head of the reception and sorting department of the 472nd Infantry Regiment of the 100th Lviv Infantry Division. From April 1943 to October 1943 he fought on the Voronezh front, from October 1943 to November 1945 on the 1st and 2nd Ukrainian fronts. Finished the war in Berlin. He graduated from the war as a commander of a medical platoon. From the moment of the offensive battles from March 11, 1944 in the area of ​​the Oratov station in the Vinnitsa region and in subsequent battles, he constantly showed concern - he provided medical assistance to the wounded officers and soldiers in a timely manner, and evacuated them in a timely manner. March 22, 1944 During military operations for the Zhmirinka station in the Vinnitsa region, he personally evacuated 12 wounded soldiers and officers from the battlefield, providing them with first aid, despite heavy enemy shelling, trying to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield. For this he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. Working as the head of the reception and triage department of the regimental medical center, he skillfully and correctly organized the reception and sorting of the wounded, because the correct provision of medical assistance and further treatment depended on this. During the period of offensive battles, Rybnik received 167 wounded soldiers and officers, including 27 from other divisions, providing them with medical assistance. For this he was awarded the Medal for Military Merit. Working as the head of the reception and sorting department at the beginning of 1945, he received 278 people - wounded soldiers. Regardless of time and rest, he was always at his post and conscientiously performed his duties. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree.
