Akimov Sergey Nikolaevich
HISTORY: My grandfather Akimov Sergei Nikolaevich was born in the village of Russkaya Tsilna of the Bogdashkinsky (Tsilninsky) district of the Ulyanovsk region in 1905. On June 22, 1941, the war entered the life of the Akimov family. Akimov S.N. I went to war at the age of 36, my grandmother and six children remained in the rear. In the ranks of the Red Army from July 7, 1941, he served as a corporal, as a line supervisor of the 852nd separate cable-pole company (signalman) in the 1st Guards Tank Army. He participated in the battles on the Kursk Bulge, in the liberation of Ukraine, in particular, in the combat operation "6th strike" - the defeat of the Germans in Western Ukraine (July-August 1944), the Lvov-Sandomierz offensive, the defeat of the Germans in Poland (January- February 1945). He liberated Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, participated in the East Pomeranian offensive operation (February-March 1945), in the Berlin offensive operation (04/16/1945 - 05/08/1945), took part in the capture of Berlin, Quote from the award list: "Brief specific statement of a military feat: on March 3, 1945 corporal Akimov S.N., working as a line supervisor, in a difficult combat situation in the area of the village. Klandstadt (Germany) (1st Belorussian Front), went to eliminate damage to the communication line going to Observation Point 11 GTK. After removing the damage, corporal Akimov S.N. was suddenly fired at by a group of enemy machine gunners, despising the mortal danger, Lance corporal Akimov S.N. on his bellies got to the second damaged section of the communication line and repaired the damage. Katukov, noted his heroic participation in the historical battles to capture Berlin. He returned home on 08/13/1945, worked as an accountant on a collective farm. Died on 02/26/1992.
