My grandfather, Alexey Ivanovich Zhukov, was born on August 18 (5th in old style), 1911 in the village of Pereborovo, Suzdal district, Vladimir province. His father - Ivan Nikiforovich Zhukov - died in World War I. His mother, left with two young children in her arms, got married a second time. The family moved to Moscow in the early 20s (1922?), where in 1923 the twins were born - my grandfather's brother and sister, and in 1925 - one more sister. My grandfather, as the eldest child in the family, from an early age helped my stepdad to make furniture. His hands were golden; besides, my grandfather painted very well. After graduating from school, my grandfather went to work at the Electrical Plant in 1929 - first as a worker, but soon became an artist. He joined VKP(b). In 1933 he got married, in 1934 my mother was born, and my grandfather was taken to the army for 3 years - he served in Manchuria. In 1937, my mother had a sister. When the war broke out, the next day, 23.06.1941, my grandfather voluntarily went to the military committee - then almost everyone did so. Where he served for the first months - now there is no one to ask, somewhere near Moscow, and in the autumn he was surrounded. One or two people came out of the entourage at a time, otherwise there was no way out. Grandfather was saved by the fact that some peasant gave him his clothes. Grandfather got to Moscow, came home to see his relatives for a short while, and again went to the military committee. But having seen for these months how things really were at the front, he said that he was unlikely to return, and asked his younger sister, who was then 18 years old, not to leave his children, because my grandmother, his wife, was ill, on disability. My grandfather went missing. The last letter from my grandfather was in January 1942. According to the PPS 1469 and the 1297th JV, it can be understood that at that time he served in the 160-2nd SD (the 33rd Army of the FJ). 33rd Army that was betrayed - so they say! During that period between January and March 1942, during the Rzhevsko-Vyazemskaya operation, the 33rd Army was almost completely killed. Only a few managed to get out of the encirclement. They did not surrender to the last. When the disparate groups lost hope of getting out and the commander shot himself, soldiers immediately hung themselves on their waist straps. And the commander Yefremov, leaving the entourage, was seriously wounded in the battle (having received three wounds) and, not wanting to be captured, shot himself. I read that even the Germans buried him with honors, paying tribute to his courage! I can only assume that if my grandfather died at this time, being a member of the 1297th Rifle Regiment, it was somewhere near the village of Izoski, or the nearest villages. Of course, all our life we wanted to know something... But for now - alas.

Our father and grandfather, Zhigalin Fyodor Afanasievich, met the war very young. He was drafted into the Red Army on January 13, 1943, when he was only 17 years old. He underwent pre-war training and was sent to the front. In October 1944, when commanding a rifle platoon, he was wounded in both legs during the battle at the crossing of the border with Czechoslovakia when taking the height of 1161 on the Russian Pass, and was treated in hospital. For this battle he was awarded the Medal of Courage. He welcomed Victory Day in Poland. After the war, in 1947, our father married our mother, Maria Ivanovna Petrakowa. Both of them came to Krivolutskaya school of Shatsk district of Ryazan region after graduating from pedagogical school by distribution and lived and worked there all their lives. Dad was a high school teacher and then combined teaching with the position of school director. Mom was a constant primary school teacher. We were brought up and put on our feet - three children - and helped us to bring up our children – their grandchildren. Dad didn't tell us anything about the war; it was very hard for him. And we didn't insist much, because he was near, we have enough time! But we did not have time to, and did not learn anything at first hand! Probably, we are not the only ones. It's a shame! Dad was a comprehensively developed man. Probably, there was nothing he did not know! At school he, being a historian by education, taught both physics, algebra and geometry (these subjects he studied on his own, which later became his strong suit), drafting, drawing (he drew perfectly), even had to teach Russian, literature and foreign (German) language due to lack of teachers. He was on good terms with his technique - he always had motorcycles. At leisure, he was a craftsman, a carpenter, a gardener, a fisherman, and played musical instruments: trophy bayan and mandolin. As they say: a seamstress, a reaper, and a dude-player. At the same time, he managed to participate in the public life of Krivolutsk Village Council and the collective farm 'Motherland', was a local deputy. In 1965, he was called up for a military training camp in Lviv, where he was promoted to captain, but this information was given by his eldest daughter, no documents have been preserved. After reaching retirement age, he still worked at school for some time until he was hit by a serious illness. In May 1992 he passed away. We are grieving. But we are very proud of our heroic father and grandfather!

During the war years, he worked at a collective farm, drove hay on a horse, delivered seeds to the fields and sowed them. From 1951 to 1956 Konstantin Alexeevich served in the group of Soviet troops in Germany. In 1956 he resigned in the rank of senior lieutenant. In 1960, he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Law Institute. In 1960, he graduated from the Vyshinsky Sverdlovsk Law Institute with a degree in jurisprudence and was awarded the qualification of lawyer. By the order of the Kemerovo regional court of August 2, 1960 as a young specialist who arrived at the judicial work to the Ministry of Justice of the RSFSR, Zhurikh K.A. was enrolled as an intern in the People's Court of the 1st section of the Central District of Kemerovo. Since October 1, 1960 Zhurikh K.A. was sent for an internship in the People's Court of 2 sections of the Anzhero-Sudzhensky area. In December 1960 Zhurikh K.A. was elected the people's judge of Anzhero-Sudzhensky district people's court of Kemerovo region. In December, 1965 Zhurikh K.A. was elected a member of the Kemerovo regional court where he worked in the judicial board on criminal cases. During his career in the Kemerovo Regional Court, Konstantin Alekseevich proved to be a well-prepared lawyer, was involved in the consideration of cases under the jurisdiction of the regional court of first instance, as well as the consideration of criminal cases on cassation and supervisory appeals and protests, constantly and actively provided assistance to people's judges of the courts assigned to him for the correct application of the law, took an active part in public life. He was a political propagandist of the seminar, was elected as a deputy chairman of the audit commission of the regional board of the "Znanie" company, was the chairman of the tourist council at the place of the regional court profiling, actively participated in legal propaganda, lectured on legislation, on religious cults, was repeatedly elected a member of the party organization of the regional court, was elected editor of the wall newspaper, was one of the best lecturers of the regional court. For his honest work, participation in public life and participation in the lecture work, K.A. Zhurikh was repeatedly awarded with honorary certificates and encouraged. By the decision of the Higher Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation of March 23, 1994 he was awarded the first qualification class. In July 1994, K.A. Zhurikh was relieved of his duties as a member of the Kemerovo Regional Court, due to his written resignation.
