Safronov Mikhail Stepanovich was born on December 28, 1930 in the village of Polyakovo. The family had two more daughters. He studied at the Polyakovskaya school, but finished only 2 classes when the war began. His father went to the front and Misha had to go to the collective farm to work. He took on any job, so there was no time to get bored. The boy shepherded horses, carried hay and firewood. Summer was usually the hardest time to harrow and plough the field, he almost had to live in the field. From morning to late evening they had much of work, and did it together with friends. Then, in general, people were more friendly, helped in everything. There was something to do for teenagers. There was no other way. After all, it was impossible to put everything on the shoulders of women, so they worked, saving their mothers. There was no need to beg anyone, they just knew they had to. But even so, he talks about his childhood like a happy time. Although it was “barefoot”, complete mutual understanding reigned between kids, they even managed to have fun. Two more uncles from the family fought at the front: Uncle Petya and Uncle Ivan. At the end of the war, both father and uncles returned home. After the war, Mikhail Stepanovich worked in his native collective farm as a groom, a shepherd, a watchman. He is a very hard-working and respectable person. He lives with his wife Raisa Andreevna, who is also worker in the rear. They have a son and two daughters.
