Yurov Sergey Mikhailovich (1921-1979). Born in Kozhino village, Sergach District. Graduated from the anti-aircraft school in Gorky city (Nizhny Novgorod). In 1941 he was 20 years old. He rose from Lieutenant to Major General of Artillery. He died at the age of 58 in Kharkov where he taught at the Military Academy.

Sharagin Philippe Mikhailovich (1923-1968). Senior sergeant, artilleryman. Born in Akuzovo village, Sergach district. He fought on the Kalinin front in a howitzer regiment. Served until 1946, was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Order of Patriotic War.
