The photographs illustrate the combat path of the 178th Rifle Division, which V.A. Kondratyev joined when he went to the front. It passed through Smolensk, Kalinin, and Leningrad regions, as well as the Karelian Isthmus. The division defended and liberated the cities of Novosokolniki, Velikie Luki, and Vyborg.
