He received an incomplete secondary education. He worked on his father's farm. In 1924-1927, he served in the red Army. When he returned home, he worked on a collective farm. On August 4, in the battle for the village of Yakovitsy, he destroyed four fascists and took one prisoner with fire from his machine gun, and repelled 6 enemy counterattacks.
