Seleznev took part in escorting 57,000 German prisoners of war through the streets and squares of Moscow._x000D_ In 1945, the tense in the Western regions of Belarus required the involvement of internal troops of the NKVD to fight nationalist gangs. My father, A.V. Vatolin, served in the 226th convoy regiment in Minsk until March, 1950. The regiment performed tasks for operational work, for the protection of important objects, for the fight against sabotage groups of the nationalist gangs, for the escort of prisoners of war, for the protection of pow camps. Along the way, the military provided assistance to the local police: a lot of theft of state property and personal property of citizens was prevented, hundreds of criminals who committed robberies and vandalism were detained. _x000D_ Until November 1945, my father served as an armored car driver. From November 1945 to March 1949 – he was a clerk in the regiment, and from March 1949 to March 1950 – became the commander of the rifle Department. On March 20, 1950, Alexey Vasilyevich Vatolin was dismissed to the reserve with the rank of senior Sergeant.
