Prikhodchenko Yegor Fedotovich

Full name: Prikhodchenko Yegor Fedotovich last NAME: Prikhodchenko FIRST name: Yegor PATRONYMIC: Fedotovich CITY: - date of BIRTH: 01.01.1917 DATE of DEATH: 01.01.1997 HISTORY: Yegor Fedotovich Prikhodchenko shares with us memories of the great Patriotic war. First of all, this is the pain of loss: a brother was killed, 20 million of our Soviet people were killed. The hardships of military life... "Will you understand, young people, how difficult, sometimes unbearably difficult it was for us? Here, in the war, there was no time to sleep, no time to eat: we had to do the most important thing-to protect our Homeland." A middle-aged, modest man is sitting in front of me, excitedly telling me: "in 1945, near the city of Velikiye Luki, I was wounded. He was in the hospital for six months. I learned about our Victory in the hospital. Jubilation and tears!» I ask Yegor Fedotovich to show his military awards. They are laid out decorously in front of me. And Yegor Fedotovich, smiling, shows the medal "for bravery". "Would you like me to tell you how I got this award?» And anticipating something unusual, I listen. "My squad was sent to investigate in an armored personnel carrier. It was necessary to find out whether there were fascists in the neighboring village and in what direction they were concentrating their forces. As we drive, we see an enemy b / t standing on the road. Well, I think that's it! Stop. I order the guys to cover me with fire if anything happens, and I go to the German car, I approach – quietly. I think it might have been booby-trapped and left for bait. I looked inside – no mines. I wanted to go back, but it was a pity to throw such a force on the road. Our b/t was bad, the Nazis had good cars. We moved to a German b / t, went to the German location. And the soldiers on duty greet us. We drove through the village, drew a plan for the location of enemy points, and only when we left the village, the Germans realized that they had made a mistake, opened fire, but it was too late. We arrived at our unit, and I went to report to Colonel Melnikov on the results of the reconnaissance. He praised us, and I said: "you, comrade Colonel, as you wish, but I exchanged my car for a German one," and told him everything. He smiled: "well Done, soldier!» For this intelligence, I was awarded the medal "for bravery". Our conversation is over. Saying good-bye, Yegor Fyodorovich shakes my hand and says: "It's good that you remember us soldiers; let the children know and remember this terrible time. They remember it so that it won't happen again."
