Demin Vasily Yakovlevich_x000D_ _x000D_ Vasily Yakovlevich Demin was born in 1925 in the village of Morevka, Bolsheignatovsky district of Mordovia.In the ranks of the red Army, a seventeen-year-old boy Vasily falls on March 2, 1942. After intense combat training in the Moscow region, the 73rd separate cavalry division, in which Vasily served, was sent to the Bryansk front on the afternoon of November 19, after a powerful artillery preparation and rapid actions of the advanced units, the division entered the breakthrough of the enemy defense and began fighting to liberate the village of Ust-Medvitskaya (Serafimovich city) from the invaders. Repulsing numerous enemy counterattacks, the 15th guards cavalry division, together with other formations, liberated the city of helm on July 22, for which it was awarded the order of the red banner (Decree of the Presidium of the USSR armed forces of 09.08.1944).For the courage and heroism shown in the battles, the young fighter Demin Vasily was awarded the medal "for bravery" by order of the commander of the 57th guards, cavalry red banner order of Kutuzov III degree of the Pomeranian regiment on August 8, 1944.
