My great-grandfather, Ivan Savovich Yavtushenko, was born on 02/23/24 in Poltava.He went to the front on 03/26/1943, served as a corporal, senior telephone operator in the platoon of the Artillery Commander of the Second Ukrainian Front of the 41st Red Banner Infantry Division of the Order of Suvorov, 2nd class. For his bravery, dedication, contempt for danger and perseverance in carrying out tasks in battles from the Oder, the Elbe to Berlin, he was awarded government awards - two Orders of the Red Star and the Order of Glory of the III degree, medals "For Courage", "For Military Merit", "For the Liberation of Budapest", "For the Liberation of Prague" and "For the capture of Berlin"
