Fyodor Mikhailovich Vologzhanin_x000D_ _x000D_ Fyodor Mikhailovich from Vologda was born in 1926 in the village of Prokopevka. When the war began, he, a fifteen-year-old boy, took part in all the working days of the rear. He had to be on duty at the fire tower, help with the preparation of material for skis and gun butts, work on road construction. In 1943, Fyodor Mikhailovich was called up to serve in the Vologda region in the 66th reserve artillery regiment, which was being trained for the front. In June 1944 he was among the best fighters sent to the front. He began to serve in the coastal defense division, guarding the city of Arkhangelsk. The guns were very close to the Bank of the Severnaya Dvina river and the anti-aircraft gunners were constantly on the alert: it was impossible to allow the Nazis to break through to the city. After serving until November 1945, Fyodor Mikhailovich went to a regimental school on the Norwegian border, where they trained squad leaders. In may, he graduated and joined a regiment near Norway. In may 1950, among the best, Vologda participated in the meeting of Department commanders-excellent service-in Petrozavodsk. From may to October 1950, Fyodor Mikhailovich taught cadets at the regimental school. And after being discharged at the end of October of the same year, he returned to his homeland and began working in a forest center. 25 years in charge of a collective farm sawmill.
