Pyotr Borisovich Vikhrev

Pyotr Borisovich Vikhrev_x000D_ _x000D_ Pyotr Vikhrev was born on March 11, 1909 in the village of Shelek (now Enbekshikazakh district of Almaty region of Kazakhstan) in a peasant family. Russian. After graduating from school, he was on the Komsomol and party work. In July 1941, he was called up to the 316th rifle division under the command of I. V. Panfilov. Military Commissar of the 6th rifle company of the 2nd rifle battalion of the 1075th rifle regiment, political Commissar Pyotr Vikhrev, especially distinguished himself during the battle of Moscow. On November 16, 1941, near the village of Petelino in the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow region, a brave political officer and a group of soldiers destroyed five enemy tanks. Left alone, political Commissar Vikhrev P. B. fought to the last bullet. In the view of Peter Vikhreva the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, his feat was described as follows: ...14 Oct 1941 in the village Bulycheva the instructor Vikhrev with his company repelled a German attack, destroying a company of infantry and one enemy tank. In the morning of the next day, the Germans again attacked the positions of the 6th company with tanks and infantry, but after losing three tanks, they were forced to withdraw. In a difficult situation, being surrounded, the unit fought for two days with superior enemy forces until the ammunition was completely used up. Then, under the leadership of the political officer, the company managed to break through the enemy ring and connect with the regiment. November 16, 6 Ms. led a heavy battle at d. Petelino. The Germans were constantly attacking. Vikhrev at this time was in one of the rifle divisions, inspiring the personal example of the soldiers who were next to him. Together with the officer, there were only fifteen people who destroyed up to a platoon of enemy submachine gunners and five tanks. Then, when there were two survivors - a political officer and a red army soldier, two more tanks caught fire from well-aimed grenade throws. Soon the Whirlwind had to fight a deadly battle alone. He fired back as long as there were bullets. Surrounded on all sides by enemies, the last bullet, so as not to be captured, saved for himself… He was buried in the village of Zhdanovo in the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow region. Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from March 31, 1943 for exemplary performance of fighting tasks of command at the front struggle with German-fascist invaders and displaying courage and heroism of the instructor Varavu Peter Borisovich was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
